Wesport Launches The West of England Celebration of Sport Evening
from Western Counties ASA
February 2012 sees the launch of the West of England Sport Trusts (Wesport) new Celebration of Sport Evening. This event will give recognition to the achievements and successes of outstanding athletes, inspirational volunteers, great coaches and high quality clubs and organisations in the West of England.
The Celebration of Sport Evening will be held on 23 May 2012 at the Bristol Marriott Royal Hotel, and Wesport are very pleased to announce that the event will be hosted by former World, European and Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist Kriss Akabusi.
Kriss Akabusi said:
Sport happens in England thanks to thousands of people giving up their time to make it happen without them, we would not be able to do the sport we love and I would not have been able to achieve all that I have achieved in sport. With London 2012 getting closer every day, I am very pleased to be a part of the West of England Celebration of Sport Evening which will recognise a few of these very special sporting heros.
Wesport wants to celebrate those people who are truly inspiring and who work every day to make sure that sport happens in the West of England. As 2012 is the year of the London Olympic and Paralympic Games, its the perfect opportunity!
The Celebration of Sport Evening also coincides with the London 2012 Torch Relay celebrations that will be taking place from the 22nd 23rd May 2012 in the West of England area.

Path Design
from inessential.com sexpigeon on Path:
Path is tappy and its content reads like the content of taps. “I am in a place,” you tap. “:)”, come the replies.
Buzz Andersen on sexpigeon on Path:
This is the best thing I’ve read about Path, and it perfectly articulates something I’ve thought not only about Path, but also a lot of other exemplars of the fussy, post-Apple wave of “high design” in tech products.
Read both, and then the Khoi Vinh article article Buzz links to. - continued here

01/24 VectorLinux 7.0-rc1 (VL64)
from DistroWatch VectorLinux is a small, fast, Intel based Linux operating system for PC style computers. The creators of VectorLinux had a single credo: keep it simple, keep it small and let the end user decide what their operating system is going to be. What has evolved from this concept is perhaps the best little Linux operating system available anywhere. For the casual computer user there is a lightening-fast desktop with graphical programs to handle daily activities from web surfing, sending and receiving email, chatting on IRC to running an FTP server. The power user will be pleased because all the tools are there to compile programs, use the system as a server or perhaps the gateway for home or office computer network. Administrators will be equally pleased because of the small size and memory requirements, so the operating system can be deployed on older machines that have long been forgotten.
